ArmInfo. Karabakh ombudsman Artak Beglaryan met with some members of the European Parliament, as well as sectoral officials of the EU and representatives of non- governmental organizations in Brussels on March 6-8.
According to the NKR Human Rights Defender Office, during the meetings, Beglaryan stressed that, regardless of political status, the people of Artsakh should have the opportunity to participate in European programs, especially in terms of human rights. He also noted the importance of active involvement of both the European Union and European non-governmental organizations in strengthening democracy and civil society and protecting the human rights of Karabakh.
Beglaryan discussed with the representatives of some non-governmental organizations the possibilities for further cooperation, while acquiring concrete agreements in this direction.
To note, the current and former Human Rights Defenders of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan and Ruben Melikyan, respectively, on March 6, in Brussels, participated in a European Parliament panel discussion, entitled "Armenophobia: Historical and Present-Day Resurgence".
