ArmInfo.The OSCE Chairperson-in- Office and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak is on a regional visit to Azerbaijan.
As Lajcak informed on Twitter, he had talks with a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) upon arrival in Baku. "Thanks to ICRC for a comprehensive briefing on their work on the ground just after I arrived in Azerbaijan for my official visit as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lajcak twitted.
According to the announcement of the visit to Baku, Lajcak will hold a series of meetings with officials of the country.
Earlier, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office stated that he intended to discuss in Baku issues of development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE, as well as settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. After the meetings in Baku, Lajcak will travel to Armenia for meetings with the Armenian leadership. The Karabakh settlement will be on the negotiation agenda.
To recall, the main priorities of the Slovakia's chairmanship in the OSCE are the settlement of protracted conflicts in the region and assistance in preventing conflicts in the organization's space.
