ArmInfo. In the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, a criminal case has been opened into the embezzlement of funds on a large scale in the Ushi village administration (Aragatsotn region).
As the General Prosecutor's Office told ArmInfo, during the investigative activities it became clear that the village administration, taking advantage of its official position, assigned about 3,208,680 drams in 2017- 2019.
In particular, the village authorities in 2017 appropriated the salaries of a local administration janitor (1.430.000 drams), which was de-facto unavailable. In 2017-2018, 17 villagers were given assistance in the amount of 820,000 drams, which never reached the recipients.
The leadership of the village also wrote out an amount of 958,000 drams in 2017-18 for the purchase of building materials for the purpose of carrying out construction work in the community. The amount was, however, wasted for personal use. On this fact, a criminal case was initiated according to 1 clause 3 of part 179 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
