On February 11, the Chair of the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on Territorial and Eurasian Integration Mikayel Melkumyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazayev, the press service of the Armenian parliament informs.
The interlocutors touched upon the issues of economic cooperation between the parties within the EAEU related to the removal of barriers to the development of mutual trade, legislative work to facilitate the conditions of transport and logistics of export-import operations, as well as joint steps of parliamentary committees in the National Assembly of Armenia and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Ambassador handed over an invitation to the speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan for the forthcoming 4th Meeting of the speakers of the Eurasian countries' parliaments on the topic: "Greater Eurasia: Dialogue. Trust. Partnership" scheduled for September in Astana and expressed hope for the personal participation of the head of the Armenian parliament and delegation in this event.
M. Melkumyan, for his part, initiated the cooperation of the Commission he heads with the relevant committees of the Mazhilis and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. An exchange of views took place on the main challenges for the EAEU and CSTO member states, including the countries' policy on digitalization.
