According to the Russian minister, in the memory gallery, which will simultaneously be a museum, "a road will be formed equal in its lengths to the days of the Great Patriotic War, and about 33 million photographs will be posted."
S. Shoigu also noted that it is planned to mark in the temple and photos of participants from abroad, for example, the French "Normandie Neman" regiment.
"As for our allies, brothers in arms, we're a big request to speed up the transfer of photographs of your participants to us, which, of course, are in your archives," Shoigu addressed to D.Tonoyan. "I hope it will receive wide support from counterparts from our union republics," the Defense Minister added.
To note, during the years of the Great Patriotic War, Armenia sent more than 600,000 people to the front, of whom every second did not return. The ranks of the hero of the Soviet Union were awarded 106 Armenians, 80 thousand were awarded orders and medals. More than 60 Armenian commanders were directly involved in the planning of military operations on all fronts. Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan (Hovhannes) Baghramyan, Air Marshal Armenak Khanferyants, Chief Marshal of the Armored Forces Hamazasp Babajanyan, Admiral of the USSR Fleet Ivan (Hovhannes) Isakov were among the most prominent representatives of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
