ArmInfo. Georgia granted the request of the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia to extradite two defendants in a case of a skirmish in the center of Yerevan in 2017. The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia reports.
To recall, in September 2017, near Tufenkian Hotel near the Republic Square in the center of Yerevan a skirmish took place, as a result of which one person died and one was injured. In the Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia, a case was initiated under three articles: "murder committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people", "attempted murder", "illegal possession of weapons". The maximum sanction for these articles provides for life imprisonment. Criminal authority Vahagn Abgaryan was wounded as a result of the shooting, and the deceased Gagik Movsisyan was a person from his closest circle. One of the defendants in the case - Rafik Khachatryan was arrested, two more - Albert Blbulyan and Armen Karadavidov were put on the wanted list.
"The law enforcement bodies of Georgia granted the request of the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office to transfer Karadavidov and Blbulyan to the Armenian side for criminal prosecution. They were extradited on February 5," a statement posted on the website of the RA Prosecutor General's Office said. The source added that Blbulyan and Karadavidov were detected on the territory of Georgia at the end of October 2017.
