ArmInfo. In matters of introducing a new transport network, resolving problems with garbage, the Yerevan City Hall will cooperate with the French region Ile de France. This was discussed during the meeting on the eve of the meeting of the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Hrachya Sargsyan with the delegation of the regional council Ille de France.
According to the press service of the metropolitan municipality, stressing the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, Hrachya Sargsyan expressed confidence that the visit of French specialists will contribute to the most effective solution of problems in these areas. "The road map signed between Yerevan and the Ile-de-France regional council includes a wide range of cooperation. Our priorities today are transport reform, garbage collection, including the construction of a new landfill and some urban development issues. I know that in a short period of time you were able to get acquainted with some of the problems and projects of Yerevan implemented by the city administration. In order to make the cooperation more relevant, I would like to get acquainted with expert assessments, "said Hrachya Sargsyan. Expressing gratitude for the meeting, members of the delegation noted that it demonstrates a special attitude to cooperation. Regarding the garbage disposal, the guests noted that, despite the problems, the city managed to surprise with its cleanliness. In the field of urban development, the need to develop a common plan with additional legislative changes and new approaches was noted. French experts also suggested applying a common system reflecting urban problems, strategies and solutions.
Hrachya Sargsyan said that the information base is already being created. The first deputy mayor expressed the hope that after summing up the visit it would be possible to make the cooperation more relevant. Members of the delegation, in turn, stated that pooling efforts could lead to significant results in the next few years. The French side will present its proposals on various aspects of the urban economy. A number of stages of cooperation will be defined, and a joint working group will be established in the near future.
