ArmInfo. The issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties were discussed today in Berlin by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting with the head of the German Bundestag Wolfgang Schauble.
The Prime Minister of Armenia told the head of the German parliament about the ongoing process in Armenia, emphasizing the irreversibility of democracy for Armenia. "After the political changes, we have to take up the economic transformation, because the next important component of the revolution is precisely economic development," said the Prime Minister.
The interlocutors highly appreciated the level of political dialogue between the two countries and stressed the importance of deepening inter-parliamentary ties in the development of Armenian-German intergovernmental relations. Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia has moved to a full-fledged system of parliamentary administration, and in this respect the experience of Germany as an established parliamentary democracy is exemplary, and therefore it is difficult to overestimate the intensification of contacts with German parliamentarians. In turn, Wolfgang Schauble noted that Armenia is an important partner for Germany, and Germany is ready to share its experience and successes in parliamentary administration. The RA Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Bundestag discussed the prospects for Armenia-EU cooperation, which entered a new phase after the signing of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Nikol Pashinyan stressed the importance of ratification of the Agreement by the EU member states in the near future.
