ArmInfo."My salary grew by 10%, and my responsibility grew by exactly the same amount," Armenian Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan confessed to journalists on January 30 before the inauguration of members of the Government. At the same time, the minister assured that the salary of all the staff of the ministry has increased on a proportional basis. The head of the Armenian Ministry of Finance noted that the issuance of awards in the department is not a new phenomenon, the legislator provided it about 20 years ago. However, as Janjugazyan pointed out, previously no one thought to pay attention to this.
"There is a provision in the law according to which employees are entitled to pay bonuses. On this basis, bonuses were paid and distributed according to a certain logic. If someone searches my relatives in this logic, then they will have to search for a long time, since all ministry employees can be considered my relatives, given that I have been working in the ministry for a very long time and there are no non-relatives in the ministry, "he noted. At the same time, as Janjugazyan stressed, December in this sense is distinguished at least by the fact that this month two salaries are paid: for November and December. The second point, which, according to the Minister, distinguishes December from all other months, is that the law has a provision on the 13th salary. In addition, it is provided that the savings from the payroll can be used to pay bonuses. "The salary of all employees, ranging from junior specialist and ending with the minister, increased on a proportional basis. Personally, my salary, compared with 2017, increased by 10%. I think, even if it sounds immodest, that my responsibility also increased, at least by 10%, "he said.Commenting on the fact that the public does not want to see repetitions of what the previous authorities did, Atom Janjughazyan stated that the issue is not in the past and present, but in the existence of the law.It should be noted that by the end of the year large awards issued in state structures caused a public outcry: people complained that against the background of low salaries in the republic, state officials themselves issued large awards, and this taking into account that many of them worked for only a few months and did not have time to show the result. In the meantime, there is a legislative imperative, requiring that the issue of bonuses adhere to a 6-month period.
The largest awards were given to the CGD and the Ministry of Finance, they reached from 2 to 9 million drams. It is noteworthy that among the winners were the press secretaries, secretaries, assistants.
