ArmInfo. Armenia with 35 points ranked 105th in the 2018 Corruption Perception Index. This was announced at a meeting with journalists on January 29 by head of the programs of the Anti-Corruption Center "Transparency International" Varuzhan Oktanyan.
Denmark and New Zealand have traditionally occupied the best positions in the issue of perception of corruption, scoring 88 and 87 points respectively. These are the cleanest countries according to the index. Algeria, Brazil, Egypt, El Salvador, Peru, Timor-Leste and Zimbabwe are located among 180 countries not far from Armenia. The corruption of states is measured by a 100-point system. Countries that are less corrupt are closer to 100 points.
Among the 19 countries in the region, Armenia is in 10th place. From the former USSR states, it is inferior to Georgia and Belarus (58 and 44 points respectively). Armenia continues to yield to Turkey (41 points).
