ArmInfo. The Artsakh Republic and all Armenians are not ready for territorial concessions in return for anything. Such an opinion was expressed by Secretary of the National Security Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Vitaly Balasanyanto journalists on January 28.
According to him, the Armenian side, at one time, in particular in the late 1980s made concessions. "Armenia made these concessions when they were in a united Armenia. When Azerbaijan was in a difficult situation, the UN adopted a resolution, we refrained from attacking actions. And the Azerbaijani side redistributed its troops for two months, launching offensive. We have already yielded 4 times .We made a concession on May 12, 1994. We have nothing to hide, "he noted.
"Those who held or today hold public office, and say that in 1993-1994 we were very weak, then, excuse me, shame and disgrace to them. We were weak in the initial stage, but when the land connection with Armenia opened "We were the strongest in the region," Balasanyan stressed.
To recall, on May 12, 1994, a tripartite cease-fire agreement was signed - the Ceasefire Agreement, between Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on the one hand, and Azerbaijan on the other, a few days after the signing of the Bishkek Protocol. The agreement was signed on May 9, 1994 by Mamedrafi Mamedov (on the part of Azerbaijan), on May 10, 1994 by Serzh Sargsyan (on the part of Armenia), on May 11, 1994 by Samvel Babayan (on the part of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic). The main provision of the treaty was to ensure a complete cease-fire and suspension of military operations from May 12, 1994.
