ArmInfo. The Directorate General for Especially Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of Armenia (IC) has revealed a case of illegal trafficking of narcotic substances on a large scale, about 2.4 kg.
According to the press service of the RA Investigative Committee, on the basis of the data obtained during the preliminary investigation, it turned out that a citizen of Georgia, an Armenian by nationality, born in 1982, engaged in illicit drug trafficking in Armenia. The investigation found that the latter in a rented apartment kept narcotic drugs of various types on a large scale. The matter, in particular, concerns 303.32 grams of hashish, 3.2827 grams of MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine), 1.965 grams of various kinds of Spice formulas and 123.41 grams of cocaine.
The investigation also established the identities of the four persons involved in the criminal group. They are all charged on the basis of clause 2, part 3, of the Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, a written undertaking not to leave the place was chosen as a measure of restraint. In respect of the two defendants, a search has been announced, an order has been issued to reveal them and to submit them to the body leading the investigation.
Regarding the fourth accused - a 36-year-old citizen of Georgia, an Armenian by nationality, the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan decided to apply a bail of 20 million drams. The body carrying out the investigation revealed that the defendant continues his criminal activities. In this regard, an appeal was submitted. On January 10, 2019, the Armenian Court of Appeal declared the use of bail unacceptable, and quashed the decision of the lower court. The accused was found in Yerevan, during a personal inspection 0.2 grams of cocaine was found as well as 2.47 grams of methamphetamine, 10, 92 grams of spice. Based on the evidence received, a new charge was brought against him on the basis of 2 points, 3 parts of article 266 of the RA Criminal Code, arrest was applied to him.
