ArmInfo.During the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, we discussed the official start of the negotiation process. The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this live on Facebook on January 23, commenting on his unofficial meeting yesterday with President of Azerbaijan in Davos.
"As for our meeting yesterday, the organizers of the meeting in Davos asked us - individually, whether we would be opposed to talking with each other, and we agreed. According to our agreement, if we are in one place, then at least we will avoid mutual meetings, "the premier stressed.
Regarding the essence of the negotiations, Pashinyan said: "In fact, during our meeting we discussed the history of the negotiation process more. When and what happened, what was the situation at that time, etc. Of course, we also discussed the possibilities that exist and "impossibility" in the context of the settlement process, we did not discuss any specific details, and we just exchanged thoughts. It was a kind of opportunity to exchange ideas, to get acquainted with the perception of the negotiation process of each of us, "the prime minister emphasized.
Pashinyan also noted that public statements had already been made, which fully reveal the content of the conversation in Davos. "I want to note that there are some politicians who are trying to convince the public that there is some kind of secret conspiracy on the Karabakh problem. These are absurd statements. That can not be all. Such conversations are the result of a wrong perception of the situation," Pashinyan said.
To note, Ilham Aliyev, earlier in an interview with RIA Novosti, referring to the topic of contacts with the Armenian leadership, said that there had not been full-fledged talks yet, but several "useful conversations" had already taken place.
