ArmInfo. The Counting commission of the National Assembly of Armenia will consist of seven members. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the parliament on January 14.
The issue of the representation of factions in the commission became an apple of discord. It was originally planned that 5 members of the commission will be represented by MPs from the "My Step" faction and one each from the "Prosperous Armenia" and "Bright Armenia" factions. However, as Edmon Marukyan, leader of the Bright Armenia Party, noted, if the representative of the faction is absent, in fact, there will be no one to represent the faction at the committee meeting. In this regard, it was proposed to form a commission according to the following principle: 3 representatives from the My Step faction and two each from the Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia factions.
The speaker of the parliament Ararat Mirzoyan agreed with this argument, who noted that the faction has no objection on Marukyan's proposal. In this regard, the head of the "My Step" faction Lilith Makunts asked for a 20-minute break. To recall, the National Assembly of the country is represented by 132 lawmakers. The fraction "My step" has an absolute majority of mandates - 88, the "Prosperous Armenia" party with 26 mandates and the "Bright Armenia" party - 18 mandates.
