As reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, on December 7, 2018, the Yerevan police received operational information that a certain citizen was handing out election bribes, thereby obstructing the free will of citizens in the December 9 elections. In the course of the operational search activities undertaken, obvious factual data on the distribution and receipt of election bribes in favor of one of the candidates were obtained.
In the Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun offices of the Yerevan Prosecutor's Office, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 and 2 of Art. 154.2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia in connection with the giving of a pre- election bribe. The preliminary investigation of the case was transferred to the Special Investigation Service of Armenia.
