ArmInfo. Acting Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Member of the Board of the Civil Contract Party Arayik Harutyunyan, did not rule out that he might end up in parliament, and also head the parliamentary faction. He stated this on December 13 in the government.
At this stage, Arayik Harutyunyan urged not to seek intrigue in future appointments. According to him, in the coming days, the ruling political force will take a command decision - who will remain in the cabinet, who will be in parliament. Various circumstances will be taken into account, including the "usefulness" of the candidate for the post of the head of the executive body and his preferences.
As indicated by the Acting head of the Ministry of Education, in the last election, "in the conditions of falsification and distribution of electoral bribery," he managed to collect 4,000 votes, and in these - 14,000. According to Harutyunyan, this is a good assessment of his activities and additional motivation for double work. "Perhaps I'll end up in the National Assembly, or maybe I'll remain in the executive branch, the team is now discussing everything," said Harutyunyan. At the same time, the question, 14,000 votes is enough to become the leader of the faction, acting. The head of the Ministry of Education said that there is no such scale. "According to the number of votes collected, trade is not conducted," Harutyunyan stressed.
At the present time, according to Harutyunyan, no decisions have been taken regarding a possible reduction in the number of ministries. "In the near future, the project of ministerial optimization will be pleased," he noted.
To note, according to the rumors circulating, Ararat Mirozyan will be the speaker of the 7th convocation parliament, Lena Nazaryan and Alen Simonyan will be deputy speakers. At the same time, it is noted that the question of who will head the parliamentary faction "My Step" has not been finally resolved. The media also reported some details about the expected structural changes in the government. In particular, it is noted that the issue of uniting the ministries of education and science, sports and youth, Diaspora and culture in one department is being discussed. The current Acting Minister of Education and Science Araik Harutyunyan will head this new ministry, according to the information. What other state agencies will be reduced or optimized will be known very soon, but as the Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, said earlier from 18 ministries, at least 5 will be reduced.
