ArmInfo. Theft and abuse took place in the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia, but the damage has already been partially repaired. The Acting Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan announced this at a press conference.
Hayrapetyan expressed surprise that such a large ministry revealed such large-scale abuses. Now checks in the Ministry continue. He did not rule out the possibility that new thefts could later be revealed, and new names would be voiced. The Acting minister found it difficult to say whether his predecessor Hranush Hakobyan was aware of these violations. He also did not indicate the amount of embezzlement, while assuring that they did not steal a penny in his office.
Earlier, a criminal case was opened in the Investigation Committee on the fact of obvious abuses in the "Center of Motherland-Diaspora" SNCO, which operates under the Ministry. According to Hayrapetyan, the former director of SNCO during this time returned 100 million drams (210 thousand dollars) to the state, which, however, is only part of the damage.
