As the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia told ArmInfo, referring to the challenges faced by the PACE, Mnatsakanyan expressed support for efforts to counter them. The Acting Armenian Foreign Minister expressed his conviction that each member of the Council of Europe should contribute to enhancing the effectiveness and credibility of the structure consolidated around common European values.
In the context of the recent internal political processes in Armenia, Mnatsakanyan stressed the commitment of the Armenian government to continue, based on a broad public mandate, the process of reforming the country, the next stage of which will be the holding of fair and transparent elections reflecting the will of the people.
The Acting Armenian Foreign Minister spoke about the country's approaches to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, stressing that attempts to discuss it outside the OSCE Minsk Group format - the only international structure with an international mandate to resolve the problem - do not contribute to resolving the conflict, causing damage to peace and stability in the region .
