ArmInfo.The National Security Service of Armenia revealed and prevented a number of crimes related to corruption.
According to the press service of the National Security Service, one of the cases concerns a group of local residents of the Aragatsotn region, who are suspected of misappropriation and sale of almost 600 trucks of black soil. The group worked from April to November 2018 and sold each batch for 65-110 thousand drams.
According to the NSS, the suspects regularly bribed two local officials from the Ministry of Nature Protection to obtain the right to engage in illegal activities. Four Armenian citizens have been charged, at the moment they are under investigation.
The second case concerns the smuggling of car tires from Georgia. According to preliminary data, two Armenian citizens bribed a customs inspector at the Bagratashen checkpoint in order to carry out illegal actions without obstacles.
The National Security Service is investigating another case involving misappropriation in the community of the Tashir municipality, Lori region, where several officials are suspected of stealing a total of 114 million drams.
Currently, investigations are also conducted on cases in the Tavush region with the participation of officials who registered citizens for work, however, the latter did not visit the workplace.
