In particular, according to him, during the reporting period, unprecedented cases of smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were recorded. "Smugglers tried to import more than 4 kg of cocaine, 2 kg of opium, 4 kg of marijuana, more than 3 grams of methadone, about 0.5 kg of heroin, 6 grams of hashish, as well as sweets containing narcotic drugs and electronic cigarettes (290 pieces) with the content of hashish to Armenia oil. Prevented attempts to export about 8 kg of opium and more than 13 kg of methamphetamine, he said.
Cases of importation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as Vardan Vardanyan, indicated were mainly detected in postal parcels. In particular, an attempt was made to import from the United States electronic cigarettes containing hashish oil, from Europe - medicinal tablets containing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. More than 22 kg of drugs were found in postal parcels, of which 3000 contain narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The head of the administration once again reminded that the carriage of any drugs by mail is not allowed.
In addition, on July 25, the Directorate for Combating Smuggling of the SRC revealed an unprecedented case in the Cargo terminal.
As a result of close cooperation with the National Security Service and the RA Police, not only offenders were identified, but also criminal groups. There have been cases of smuggling of weapons and ammunition and drugs, the most notable of which is the sale of drugs through social sites. As a result, 600 grams of hashish and 20 grams of MDMA were found in this group.
Vardan Vardanyan also informs that without the permission of the customs authorities it is prohibited to transfer goods under customs control to other persons. This, in particular, is about importing cars to Armenia. According to him, according to the results of joint activities with the Traffic Police, there were cases when the importer delivered the car into operation without customs clearance.
