ArmInfo.Beeline Armenia employees participated in 2018 Global Digithon of VEON Group, held in Amsterdam. As the press service of the company told ArmInfo, the event involved winning teams from regional stages of Digithon in 11 countries where the group is present. Global Digithon formed 9 teams, composed of representatives from different countries, including 6 employees of Beeline Armenia.
According to the source, within Digithon the representatives of VEON group of companies develop prototypes and relevant digital services. Within 24 hours the teams elaborated their ideas and prepared prototypes, presented to professional commission and partners.
3 winning teams were selected. Beeline Armenia representatives were present in the composition of teams that took the first and third places. Digital Ninjas, which became the winner of the first place, will have the opportunity to visit Silicon Valley and leading tech companies. The winners of the second and third places Eating Crackers and Guardians of VEON will also receive prizes: visits to offices of digital teams respectively in Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.

To note, in Armenia, the local stage of Digithon took place in September of this year in Hankavan. This year, 4 teams participated in the Armenian stage of the corporate digital marathon. The main topic of the competition was the monetization of data, which is a pressing issue in the telecommunications sector. In accordance with the rules of hackathons during Digithon, all the teams are assisted by specially selected mentors - specialists of the company in the field of IT, marketing and commerce. The purpose of this competition is, on the one hand, to bring together employees from different departments around a common task, and on the other, to develop new ideas so that the company can provide its customers with even simpler and more convenient services.
