ArmInfo. The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia Mevlut —avushoglu, Elmar Mamedyarov and David Zalkaliani in Istanbul ended with the adoption of the Istanbul Declaration.
According to the Turkish bureau of Report, during the press conference following the talks in the Dolmabahce Palace, Cavusoglu touched upon the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Turkish minister stressed that Ankara considers it necessary to ensure the "territorial integrity" of Azerbaijan and Georgia, and this issue has always been on the agenda of Turkey. In turn, Mammadyarov thanked Turkey for efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and support for the "territorial integrity of Azerbaijan."
The Istanbul Declaration emphasizes the commitment of Ankara, Baku and Tbilisi to expanding cooperation and the importance of trilateral cooperation in the field of defense, in particular in the field of defense industry, conducting tripartite exercises, training and high-level meetings. The ministers expressed interest in expanding cooperation in this direction and welcomed the memorandum of understanding, signed by the heads of defense departments on March 31, 2018 in Georgia.
At the same time, the foreign ministers of the three states expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral and trilateral cooperation, and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation based on strategic partnership, good neighborliness, mutual respect and trust.
