ArmInfo. "If you return to politics, you need to think about it," the second Armenian President Robert Kocharian said in an interview with RIA, answering the question of whether he intends to create his own party.
According to the former president, the name of the party is unprincipled. "The approaches that need to be adapted are fundamental: Now I see a very serious vacuum in the opposition field and I believe that it should be filled in the interests of the country," Kocharyan added.
The ex-president noted that he does not have the desire to occupy any high position. "If such a desire were there, I would not live my private life for 10 years. The situation develops in such a way that the situation draws you into a process from which you cannot brush it off simply because of your biography, character, and attitude to life," he stressed. .
At the same time, speaking about the reluctance to participate in the upcoming early parliamentary elections, Kocharyan explained that he simply does not have time, and there is no confidence in the legitimacy of this process.
"I was non-partisan. This means that I need to create a party from scratch, and not restore what once was. And I would like to go to the polls with a new, updated team. Usually, what are the first steps when you want to build a team? You look at the people you know, the environment with whom you spoke, worked, "Kocharian said.
However, according to him, given the current situation, it is necessary to attract new, talented, young and energetic people. "Someone, of course, needs to be drawn from the old team, which you know, who worked with you. But you still need to rely on a new generation of people, but this is not easy, it takes time," Kocharyan added.
