ArmInfo.On October 15, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent.
According to the press service of the government, Pashinyan noted that the visit of Kent is a good opportunity to discuss the agenda and the development of bilateral relations.
In turn, George Kent noted that he is pleased to be in Armenia at the time of changes in the country, and the United States attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial relations with Armenia.
The Prime Minister also touched upon the internal political processes in the country and stated that Armenia continues to confidently develop democracy in the republic, which is not the foreign policy goal of our society, but an internal value. The head of government also spoke about consistent work in the fight against corruption and reforms in various fields.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State noted that the US government is interested in Armenia registering success in the development of democracy, the economic plane. Moreover, Kent stated that the United States government is ready to support Armenia in the implementation of reforms.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the international political situation, regional challenges, etc.
