ArmInfo.Director of the ''Yerevan'' Foundation Ashot Ghazaryan still does not plead guilty to the alleged embezzlement in the capital's Municipality and abuses in the Foundation. He stated this in an interview with reporters.
Ghazaryan stated that there was no confrontation with former mayor of Yerevan Taron Margayan, and during the investigative measures there was no question of giving evidence against him or anyone else. To note the National Security Service of Armenia revealed cases of fraud and abuse of office by the staff of the Yerevan Municipality. In particular, it is noted in the message, the citizens V.G. and A.H. appealed to the National Security Service with a complaint, saying that, in addition to legal payments from them, they demanded to transfer large sums to the account of the "Yerevan'' Foundation.
"In the process of preparing the materials, it turned out that part of the above funds received on cash were not credited to the fund's account, but were appropriated," the report says. On the basis of a complaint, the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Security Service of Armenia initiated a criminal case under two articlesfull - abuse of official authority, due to negligence resulting in grave consequences, as well as fraud using official position.
In this connection, searches were conducted in the working premises of the "Yerevan" Foundation, located in the administrative building of the Yerevan Municipality. Large-scale operational-search work is underway aimed at identifying the circumstances of the collection of money from citizens.
