ArmInfo. With the support of IDBank, the International Taekwon-do Federation of Armenia (ITFA) initiated an open European Taekwondo Championship in Yerevan.
According to the press service, a solemn opening ceremony will be held today, which will be accompanied by a show program. 21 groups will take part in the tournament, of which 10 are from Armenia and 11 from abroad.
According to ITFA President Karen Aghajanyan, the event will provide an opportunity to show Europe that Armenian athletes are competitive and can compete for the title of European champions. "Being the general sponsor of the tournament, IDBank aims to promote Armenian athletes in their quest for new heights in Armenia and abroad. IDBank attaches importance to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and actively promotes the development of sports in Armenia," the report notes.
To note, IDBank (until May 31, 2018, called Anelik Bank) has been operating in the Armenian market since October 1996. The Bank's shareholders are the Cyprus company FISTOCO LTD with a stake of 59.68% and the Lebanese CreditBank S.A.L - 40.32%. The indirect majority shareholders are physical persons: Tarek J. Khalefe (CreditBank S.A.L) and Vartan Dilanyan (FISTOCO LTD).
