ArmInfo. ARF Dashnaktsutyun governor of Aragatsotn region of Armenia, Ashot Simonyan, resigns his post. About this he wrote on his page on the social network Facebook.
"In connection with the recent internal political processes and, taking as a basis the statements of the ARF dated October 2, 2018 to withdraw its representatives from the RA government, I leave my position as governor of the Aragatsotn region," wrote Simonyan.
According to him, the year is undoubtedly an insufficient period for the implementation of projects that could contribute to the development of the region and the improvement of the population's living standards. "Nevertheless, with my daily and consistent work I tried to realize the vision, which for me formed the basis for the future development of the region and the country as a whole. I think that the work was a success," he noted.
Earlier, ArmInfo reported that today the governors of Armavir Gagik Miridzhanyan (who received the post under the PAP quota) and Gegharkunik - Ishkhan Sagatelyan (ARFD) resigned.
Recall that the night before, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a decree on the resignation of ministers from the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Prosperous Armenia parties, which supported the amendments against the early parliamentary elections. As the prime minister said, the same fate awaits the governors - representatives of these parties. The issue of their resignation, as Pashinyan pointed out, will be included on the agenda of the upcoming government meeting.
