ArmInfo.Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan took part in the discussions organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday with the participation of representatives of civil society.
As the press service of the government of Armenia reports, the purpose of the meeting was to develop a roadmap of the program of activities for the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union. During the event, it was reported that the meeting of foreign ministers would take place on 15 October in Luxembourg, before which it was necessary to present the agenda issues to civil society. Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan addressed to the meeting participants after whom Mher Grigoryan presented the process of developing an action plan to implement the provisions of the Agreement. Emphasizing the importance of regular contacts with civil society, Mher Grigoryan pointed to the need for the development of vital areas for Armenia. In particular, he noted the importance of carrying out reforms, considering the Agreement as an anchor around which the reform agenda should be formed. The Deputy Prime Minister touched upon the work of the interdepartmental committee coordinating the implementation of the document and the priorities for the application of documents, answered a number of questions from those present.
To recall, on November 24 in Brussels, Armenia signed the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the European Union. The document provides for the expansion of the partnership of Yerevan with the EU in the economic, as well as in the scientific, environmental and cultural fields.
