ArmInfo. Early parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia in December of this year. On October 2, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia.
He assured that a direct democratic power had been formed in the republic. "If it turns out that I, as prime minister, do not represent the people, then the elections will not take place, if it turns out that I, as the prime minister, are representatives of the people, then the elections will take place," the Armenian prime minister said. Pashinyan also said that he had a meeting with the NA Speaker Ara Babloyan, to whom he presented his position on the elections.
He also touched on the steps of several political forces aimed at changing the regulations of the National Assembly, stressing that this was done intentionally. Pashinyan believes that today we can officially say that counter-revolutionary forces are operating in the country, and counter-revolutionary forces are those who are going to support this bill. "The MP who supports this bill wants the corruption regime to make a rematch, but of course we will not allow this," Pashinyan concluded. It should be noted that this document allows the Parliament not to meet legally in the case of force majeure. That is, if Pashinyan decides to bring the people to the street in order to exert pressure on the parliament to make a decision on early elections, the National Assembly can simply decide not to hold meetings.
