ArmInfo. Not everyone knows, but the maestro and his family rescued Jews during the occupation of Paris by the Germans. Thus, the well-known Israeli political scientist, public figure Avigdor Eskin responded to the news of the death of Charles Aznavour.
"They themselves were refugees from Turkey. They themselves managed to escape. After all, Armenians were killed in Turkey in 1915. They managed to survive and, once in Paris, they saved Jews. This is what we need to know about Aznavour. This is eternal memory," said Eskin during the video message on his page on Facebook.
The political scientist also called on various Israeli associations to join his proposal to the Israeli authorities to open a memorial to Charles Aznavour in the holy land in memory of Armenians who were victims of the 1915 Genocide. Eskin is convinced that the opening of the memorial is more important than the promotion of the resolution on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the Israeli Knesset.
