ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan revealed the details of a short conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Dushanbe and spoke about the agreements reached.
"I had an interesting contact with the President of Azerbaijan. In fact, this contact was also informal, and this was our first such contact, the first such discussions," said Pashinyan during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, summing up his visit to Dushanbe, where headed for the meeting of the heads of state of the CIS.
He recalled that in June of this year in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced him to Aliyev, however, after that there were no contacts or conversations. "This time we had some kind of substantive conversation, following which we fixed several important points. The first is that we agreed to instruct our defense ministers to take concrete steps to reduce tensions at the front line, that is, we are talking about steps to eliminate incidents I believe that this is an important agreement, "the Armenian PM said. At the same time, he stressed that he had informed Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan about this agreement, and this agreement was also acceptable to him.
"In fact, we can say that there is an agreement on the implementation of measures to prevent violations of the cease-fire regime on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the contact line of troops, and I gave the relevant instructions from Dushanbe to the Armenian armed forces in the evening of September 27, and I am glad to say that last night was the most calm, at least since my time at the post, "said Pashinyan, adding that he reached an agreement with his Azerbaijani counterpart to stop the so-called" hunt for people "that was before, which led to casualties on both sides. At the same time, the Armenian Prime Minister stressed that the next point of the agreement with the President of Azerbaijan was the expression of adherence to the format of the negotiation process to resolve the conflict, and it was stated that the conflict should be resolved peacefully.
"And the third most important point, I think, is that we agreed to create some kind of operational communication system. But how difficult it will be to say communication is because there are no specific agreements yet. But the relevant departments have already been assigned to work on creating some kind of operational communication system between the parties since we are constantly confronted with the problem of who first violated the cease-fire regime. If we really want to comply with the full cease-fire regime, and not something inadequate, then we must have such an operational communication system for communications software, "- he said.
Pashinyan noted that he had communicated with Aliyev on the evening of 27 and 28 in the afternoon, and the main content of the conversations was on how to make the tension at the front line subside and provide for a cease-fire, because if we are talking about resolving the conflict, then appropriate atmosphere. According to the head of the Armenian government, it is not very logical to talk about resolving the conflict amid shooting, and steps need to be taken in order to begin a conversation about the agenda and content of resolving the conflict in a normal atmosphere. In conclusion, he expressed the hope that the agreements reached with the Azerbaijani leader will be respected, assuring that the Armenian side will do everything to make them effective.
