ArmInfo. For today, the revolution in Armenia is not fully completed, and elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan will become a kind of exam for the new government. This was announced by candidate for mayor of Yerevan from "Yerkir Tsirani" party Zaruhi Postanjyan today in the course of voting to the Council of Elders at the polling station 4/08.
According to Postanjyan, the current elections can be assessed simultaneously as productive, and not very much. According to her, while all political forces were given a chance to express their views on the withdrawal of Yerevan from an unenviable state, only mutual accusations began to sound. "We face the task of rallying the people and consolidating political forces," she said, stressing that for many, Yerevan has become a testing ground, while everyone should serve a common goal and for the benefit of the capital.
The success of the forthcoming work of the new authorities, as the candidate for mayors noted, will be the diversity of political forces and the consolidation of the entire people. "For today, the country has been destroyed so much that it takes time, but also participation of all political forces to restore it," said Postanjyan. "In this context, the party leader believes that all national potential, both inside the country and outside it , should be involved in this process, and this is not the case of one person or one separate group.
Talking about her expectations from the current elections, Postanjyan stated that the "Yerkir Tsirani" party is ready to welcome the candidate who received the vote of confidence of the people, and after demanding results from the mayor of the city. As for violations in the campaigning of parties, then, according to the leader of "Yerkir Tsirani," she heard about the distribution of bribes, but at this stage refrains from assessments. The process of distribution and receipt of bribes should be investigated by law enforcement agencies, she noted, and when confirming the facts of vote buying, they must be given a legal assessment unequivocally.
At present the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan are held. Twelve parties and electoral blocs participate in elections, which are represented by proportional lists of candidates. Candidates for the mayors of the city are the first numbers of these lists, namely Hayk Marutyan (My Step), Artak Zeynalyan (Lois), Naira Zohrabyan (Prosperous Armenia Party), Anahit Tarkhanyan (Yerevan Public Union, ), Ararat Zurabyan (block "Yerevanians"), Zaruhi Postanjyan (Yerkir party of the zirani), Raffi Hovhannisyan (Heritage party), Mikael Manukyan (ARF Dashnaktsutyun party), Gevorg Hovsepyan (Hayk party), Artak Avetian (Reform Party), Mher Shahgeldyan (Orinats Yerkir Party) and Manuel Gasparyan (Democratic Path Party).
