ArmInfo. The statements that Kocharyan's lawyers spread a telephone conversation between the heads of the National Security Service and the Special Investigative Service are absurd and untrue. This was stated on September 14 at the press conference by Hayk Alumyan, lawyer of the second president of Armenia.
He stressed that neither the second president nor his lawyers are in any way connected with this record. "Robert Kocharyan has nothing to do with wiretapping, it is difficult to answer the question who could make this record, however, in Armenia NSS has such powers," the lawyer said.
Alumyan also touched upon the statement of the head of the SIS that the latter have evidence that soldiers during the March 1 events were brought in as mercenaries for the protection of oligarchs' houses. "If the Special Investigation Service has evidence, then why is there no charge?", the lawyer wondered.
According to the lawyers, the authorized bodies show a notebook, in which it is allegedly documented that during the March 1 events, soldiers were used as contractors, oligarchs were giving bribes, and all this was carried out on an illegal basis. "I have not seen this notebook, if the representatives of the SIS have sufficient evidence of the guilt of an official, then where is the charge brought against him? If this information is not confirmed, why do the heads of such serious structures make such a statement. The head of the SIS tried to divert public attention from recording his telephone conversation with the head of the National Security Service, Vanetsyan, "Alumyan stressed.
To note, MP Alen Simonyan in his conversation with journalists stated that the recording of the telephone conversation between the heads of the National Security Service and the SIS was probably spread by Robert Kocharyan's lawyers.
To note, during a press conference on September 11, the head of the Special Investigation Service, Sasun Khachatryan, stated that the SIS has evidence that, from February 23 to March 7-8 2008, oligarchs hired soldiers for money to guard them and their property. Khachatryan presented some documents at the press conference in which, according to the latter, it is indicated how much money the oligarchs gave to the soldiers, and there are signatures of those who received the money. The head of the SIS also noted that there is evidence that a large amount of money has been withdrawn from the accounts of a number of oligarchs these days, which once again confirms their guilt.
