ArmInfo.On September 10th of 2018 Prime Minister of Armenia and Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, who is in Armenia on an official visit, visited Yerevan Brandy Company. According to the visit program Prime Ministers visited the ARARAT Museum of Yerevan Brandy Company, where they were introduced to the rich history and production process of the legendary Armenian brandy ARARAT.
Prime Ministers stopped at the Peace Barrel, founded in 2001 in honor of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of OSCE, visited factory in 2001. The barrel is called “Peace” as it will be opened when Karabakh conflict is resolved.
Nikol Pashinyan and Mamuka Bakhtadze also participated in the official ceremony of founding named barrels, which are put for ageing on the occasion of their visit.
Prime Ministers also visited the Treasury of Yerevan Brandy Company, where a unique collection of ARARAT brandies is kept - from the very first samples of the previous century up to our days.
The legendary Armenian brandy ARARAT is produced by Yerevan Brandy Company using traditional technology, the foundations of which were laid in 1887 by the brothers Nerses and Vasily Tairyants. ARARAT brandy is created using only local endemic high-quality Armenian grapes and crystal clear spring water. Precious ARARAT brandy is aged exclusively in barrels made of Caucasian oak, produced in their in-house cooperage plant. In 1998 Yerevan Brandy Company became a part of Pernod Ricard, an international company and the world’s number 2 in wines and spirits.
