ArmInfo. Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations Mher Margaryan on August 31 handed his credentials to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports, during the conversation with Guterres, Margaryan reaffirmed the readiness of the Armenian government to deepen and expand cooperation with the UN.
Margaryan also presented to the UN Secretary General the process of preparation for the 17th Summit of the Francophone, which will be held in October 2018 in Armenia.
The Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN also introduced Guterres to the Armenian side's approach to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Margaryan noted that Armenia stands for an exceptionally peaceful resolution of the conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, stressing that the priorities of the negotiation process for the Armenian side are the status and security of Artsakh. It was also noted the importance of creating an atmosphere of peace, maintaining the ceasefire and ending militant rhetoric.
