The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, on the eve of the meeting devoted to the new academic year, said the head of the department Araik Harutyunyan.
Nevertheless, he continued, currently there are active discussions on a number of procedures and substantive standards. He informed that for the approval of the government a new procedure for the formation of classrooms is presented, in which the average and maximum density of pupils is established. At the beginning of next year, there are changes to the financing of schools. According to the new funding formula, the situation in schools with up to 300 students will be improved, since, in addition to the number of students, a clear coefficient of the number of classes will be applied.
Araik Harutyunyan stressed that the procedure for accrediting directors has already been changed, now the issue of changing the procedure for selecting and appointing the head of the school is being discussed. In particular, it is planned that when forming a vacant post before the contest, to abandon the practice of appointing the acting director of the school, assigning this mission to the deputy director.
The system of teacher certification will also be changed. The introduction of the Teacher system is envisaged, which provides for professional voluntary savings, which will lead to an increase in teachers' wages up to 50%.
