ArmInfo. Norfolk Consulting stoppes its activies. This is reported by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
According to the source, instead of Norfolk Consulting, another company will not be established. From now on all business entities in the customs authorities will declare their goods themselves. At the same time, the SRC states that the committee has formed 2 new detachment and clearance units that are created to assist economic entities in issues related to customs clearance. SRC also informs that all actions related to imported goods will be carried out exclusively in accordance with the customs legislation.
It should be noted that the Norfolk Consulting company earlier engaged in cargo transportation and customs clearance of documents and contacted the name of ex-prime minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan. The company caused damage to the state in the amount of $ 7 million, of which it paid $ 2 million.
It should be recalled that on May 25, the National Security Service of Armenia announced that, in the framework of its activities aimed at combating corruption and economic crimes, it disclosed a criminal scheme. According to the RA National Security Service, the large Norfolk Consulting company operating in Armenia - a customs declarer performing customs services, maliciously evaded paying taxes, duties and other obligatory payments on an especially large scale. The company did not pay about $ 7 million to the state budget. On this fact, the Investigative Department of the National Security Service instituted criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 205 ("Evasion from payment of taxes, duties or other mandatory payments") and Part 2 of Article 308 ("Abuse of official authority, entailing by imprudence grave consequences ") of the RA Criminal Code. Until recently, there were about 7-8 organizations in the republic that dealt not only with cargo transportation, but also with the execution of customs documents.
