ArmInfo. The chief of Armenian Police Valery Ospyan affirms that there is no corruption in the department led by him.
"I affirm that there are no corrupt manifestations in the Armenian police, although I can not exclude that while we are here talking, one of our employees, for reasons I can not understand, can carry out illegal activities, but I want to assure you, that he will certainly be punished for this, no one will escape responsibility, "Osipyan said at a press conference in Yerevan on August 21.
On the question of whether the question of raising salaries to policemen was considered, especially against the fact that corruption in the ranks of law enforcement agencies is over, the police chief noted that this issue is undoubtedly in the center of attention. In his words, moreover, the Prime Minister of Armenia was also informed about the need to raise salaries, who is primarily interested in this. However, according to Osipyan, for economic growth there should be economic opportunities. As he said, as soon as there is such an opportunity, salaries will be necessarily raised.
"But I would like to note that it is not that all the police system is full of corruption. In our structure there are very many responsible and workers who conduct the issues which are faced upon them with honor", Osipyan said.
