ArmInfo.Chief of Police of ArmeniaValery Osipyan promises to hold elections unprecedented by their quality in Armenia.
"The upcoming elections in Armenia will be unprecedented both in terms of their organization and transparency in the activities of law enforcement agencies," Osipyan said on August 21 during a meeting with journalists, summarizing the activities of 100 days in office.
At the same time, the Chief of Police urged not to violate the law, not to give pre-election bribes, promising that both those who distribute them and those who take them will be punished.
He also said that already today the relevant police structures in connection with the forthcoming elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders began checking voter lists, having already checked 400,000 citizens.
Osipyan also assured that the police will not be constrained in their activities during the elections. "We have not been restrained in our actions before, and will not be restrained today." The police will act as transparently as possible, you will have an opportunity to see this personally, "he concluded.
To recall, extraordinary election to the capital's Council of Elders will be held on September 23 in Yerevan. And early parliamentary elections will be held.in the spring of 2019.
