ArmInfo. The Military Police of Armenia Defense Ministry opened a criminal case against two soldiers on mandatory service who refused to return to the place of service after treatment in the hospital.
The press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry shared to ArmInfo that on August 18, a message was received from the Central Military Hospital that 4 soldiers on compulsory service had been discharged from the hospital after prolonged treatment. However, they refused to go to the places of service, arguing that they still have not recovered. In the MD reported that to clarify the situation the Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan, the head of the military police Artur Baghdasaryan, the head of the center for human rights and ethics of MD Alexander Avetisyan went to the hospital. "It was discovered that 4 soldier from different military units, being recognized by the military medical boardasas fit for compulsory military service, were discharged from the hospital with restrictions on the passage of service, but refused to go to military units, claiming that they are have not recovered fully.
After the explanatory conversations held by high-ranking officials of the Defense Ministry, H. Hovhannisyan and A. Avoyan expressed their readiness to return to military units and continue the service, while A. Kirakosyan and Y. Gukasyan, accompanied by military police officers, were transferred to the appropriate unit for the reception and distribution of the Military Police and the N military unit of the Defense Ministry of Armenia. "A criminal case has been raised against the above-mentioned servicemen, the investigation is being carried out," the RA Defense Ministry message reads.
