ArmInfo. Since this autumn, studies will be conducted in Armenia on the spread of the human papillomavirus (HPV). For the organization of the project, the Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan and the founder of the FIDEC Armenia Foundation, the well-known Argentine infectious disease specialist Daniel Istanbulkalyan signed a bilateral memorandum.
"FIDEC Armenia" together with the International Agency for Research on Cancer Diseases (International Agency for Research on Cancer France, Leon), will conduct research on the spread of HPV.
The project will be coordinated by the Ministry of Health. The collected samples will be transported to Lyon, where the final results of the study will be obtained. The results of the research will form the basis of further research and correction of the general condition of HPV patients. The study will be conducted in two stages throughout the country. The fund will also inform about the consequences of HPV, about early and timely detection of the disease and further treatment.
During the meeting, D. Istanbul presented the results of the fight against infectious diseases that is being conducted in Argentina, emphasizing the role of vaccination for prevention (HPV).
A. Torosyan welcomed the initiative to organize a scientific discussion on the vaccination procedure and its results in Armenia.
Note that since December 11, 2017 in Armenia, the program to vaccinate thirteen-year-old girls against the human papilloma virus was to be launched. However, almost no one turned to polyclinics. And according to the plan, the vaccine should receive about 16 thousand girls of thirteen years old.
