ArmInfo. The summit of Francophonie in Yerevan will be held at the highest level, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated at the government session on August 16.
According to him, a large group of specialists is working on the preparation of the summit. There is already the list of the delegations that will take part in the forthcoming October 11-12 event. "There are all the resources and opportunities to hold the forum at a high level," Mnatsakanyan said.
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said that an operational headquarters has been set up to hold the summit successfully, which holds weekly meetings to discuss existing problems and their solutions.
Chief of Armenia Police Valeri Osipyan stressed that the police will ensure the guests' security from the airport to the hotel complexes. Moreover, a secret program envisages ensuring the safety of nearby territories.
Zvartnots International Airport is also ready to receive guests, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Ashot Hakobyan stated. According to him, the only problem was the unavailability of Wi-Fi, but it was solved.
Today the Armenian Government made a decision to provide the Foreign Ministry of Armenia with an additional AMD 120 million to 1.4 billion drams for the summit to ensure the accommodation of high- ranking guests, who will arrive in Armenia for participation in the Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie from October 7 to 12. More than 1,300 rooms in 40 hotels are reserved for October 6- 13.
