ArmInfo. A Christian Democratic Party will be established in Armenia. '' We have decided to strengthen the results of the velvet revolution and establish a party, based on Christian moral and democratic values. The goal of founding the new party is to prevent another standstill in the establishment of the fourth republic, the member of an initiative group, political scientist Levon Shirinyan told journalists on August 15.
According to him, the party will have a right-centric orientation with a combination of elements, both socialism and conservatism, which will provide an opportunity to protect the interests of broad sections of the population. Thus, any person who shares their views, can replenish the ranks of the new party. Armenia, according to the political scientist, should not be an oligarchic country, it is necessary to eradicate this phenomenon. "We will act on the basis of two principles - political consensus with all parliamentary forces and social activities," he said.
Besides, Shirinyan pointed out that the party intends to support the policy of Nikol Pashinyan's government however, most likely it will participate in early elections separately. "Our goal is to solve the political problem, if we deserve the people's trust, then we will enter the parliament, but if we do not pass, we will prepare a new cultural, ideological and political revolution," he said.
The white dove is the symbol of the party, the founding meeting is scheduled for September 15.
