This was stated on August 14 during a briefing by the acting Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan.
"We continue intensive work to this end. As you know, the Armenian Prime Minister made a statement on this issue a few days ago, and we continue to make every effort to return our citizen safely and speedily back home," Naghdalyan said.
On July 15 this year, under unclear circumstances, Armenian citizen Karen Ghazaryan (born in 1984) had appeared on the Azerbaijani side, where he was captured and represented by the Azerbaijani side as a saboteur. Meanwhile, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, spokesman of the Defense Ministry of Armenia reacting to this information reported that a resident of the Berdavan village of the Tavush region Karen Ghazaryan (born in 1984) does not serve and never served in the RA Armed Forces.

Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan, being the head of the interdepartmental Commission for Hostages and Missing Persons, appealed to the Yerevan office of the International Committee of the Red Cross to organize the return of RA citizen Karen Ghazaryan to his homeland.
