ArmInfo. The Green Party of New Zealand initiated a process to consider in the country's parliament a resolution on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey.
One of the initiators of the process was MP Gareth Hughe. "We are going to present the issue of recognition in the parliament and ask all deputies to support us. What happened with the Armenians has to do with the history of each nation, "the public television company quoted the New Zealand parliamentarian as saying. Gareth Hughe also stated that New Zealand in the issue of recognizing the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire should follow the example of Germany, the Netherlands, France and other countries of the world, who officially recognized and condemned the tragedy of 1915.
In its turn, the Armenian Committee of New Zealand will soon organize a demonstration of a documentary film about the Armenian Genocide "" in the country's parliament.
