ArmInfo. Former Head of the Sarukhan community of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia jointly with the head of the staff violated the law repeatedly during their tenure of office and caused damage to the state in especially large amounts, the press service of the RA Police reports.
According to the information, the Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime and the employees of the Gavar Department, as a result of search activities, obtained data that the former head of the Sarukhan community of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia and the head of staff carried out unlawfull actions during their tenure of office.
During the preparation of materials it was revealed that according to preliminary data in 2008-2016 the head of the community staff using his official position provided to the residents of the community false certificates of the property tax on the vehicle and missaprorpiated the received funds amounted to 15 million drams. As a result of this offense, fines and penalties amounting to AMD 16 million were levied on the amount of property tax. Thus, the amount of damage to the state and the legitimate interests of citizens amounted to 31 million drams. The checks are continuing.
