ArmInfo. Former Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, who was the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia from June 2007 to April 2008 and was considered the grey eminence at the court of Robert Kocharyan, was interrogated in the Special Investigation Service (SIS) on July 26.
The Service's press service confirmed the information to the ArmInfo's correspondent. At the same time, the investigative body at this stage refrained to present the details of the questioning, particularly to what case it related and what the status of Gevorgyan was.
Nevertheless, according to various sources, Armen Gevorgyan was summoned in the framework of the March 1 case.
To note at this moment the court session continues, at which the SIS application on applying arrest as a preventive measure against the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan in the March 1 case is being considered. In the same case, a petition was submitted to the court to arrest the CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, who in the days of the events led the Yerevan garrison.
