ArmInfo. In the fight against corruption in Armenia there will be no compromise. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a government meeting on July 26, commenting on the draft decision on the extension of the summer draft by the executive body until August 11 of this year, inclusive.
Presenting the draft decision, RA Defense Minister David Tonoyan stressed that the summer reqruitment for active military service is carried out from May 1 to July 31 inclusive. However, in order to complete the process of medical examination of conscripts, to resolve issues related to the granting of a deferral for certain categories of citizens, there is a need to extend the term of the summer draft until August 11. At the same time, David Tonoyan underlined, the terms of demobilization of servicemen remain unchanged.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, some officials continue to ignore previously voiced statements concerning their children. They, as before, continue to make attempts to exert pressure on conscription commissions, offer bribes for the liberation of their children from service in the armed forces, as a result of which they are behind bars. "Unfortunately, there are still serious abuses in the organization of the conscription, which can not but cause concern." I want to reaffirm that there will not be any compromises in the fight against corruption," said Nikol Pashinyan.
