ArmInfo. Intensive training on "survival" in the mountainous woodland kicked off for contract servicemen of Russian military base stationed in Armenia at the "Kamhud" high-altitude testing range.
As the head of the press service of the Southern Military District, Vadim Astafiev informed, the drills are conducted by officers of the department for theoretical and practical training. In theoretical exercises, servicemen will got familiar with new guidelines, ration, tactical and technical characteristics of modern weapons, military and aviation equipment in service.
In practice, in day and night time, servicemen will hand over more than 100 special standards for the main combat training disciplines, as well as gain experience in hand-to-hand combat, camp installation in unfamiliar terrain and "survival" in "extreme" hot climatic conditions using modern equipment "Ratnik" and improvised means.
More than 200 servicemen are involved in special tactical training in the mountain-woodland in Transcaucasia, 30% of whcih are women.
