ArmInfo. Bulgaria hails peaceful changes occurred in Armenia, Maria Pavlova Tzotzorkova-Kaymaktchieva stated at the press conference on the issue of anti-corruption policy and methods held in Yerevan on June 29.
The Ambassador noted that the election of prime minister and formation of new government in Armenia were held according to the law and the Constitution, which demonstrates Armenian people's will to strengthen democratic principles in the country.
At the same time the Bulgarian diplomat stressed that the new government's program is clear, and it highlights the priorities, including the rule of law, the strengthening of democratic principles, the fight against corruption, and setting equal opportunities for representatives of the business environment. Maria Pavlova also recalled that on June 13 the Bulgarian parliament ratified the Agreement on a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership (CEPA), which will open new opportunities for cooperation between Armenia and the European Union. "Today, Armenia-EU relations are progressing. Currently when Bulgaria's presidency in the EU Council comes to an end, we are assessing the work done, including in Armenia. During our presidency in the EU Council, in Armenia we focused our attention on the fields of education and culture, conducted a number of activities to raise the awareness of our country, "the diplomat said. At the same time, she added that Bulgaria is very cautious about the choice of projects for bilateral cooperation with Armenia, in the context of completing the Armenia-EU relations.
